How about a small introduction of yourself to the readers of Supermoto Central?
My name is Crashking and I'm from the Supermofools. I've been into Supermoto for almost 10 years by now. I've build a few supermoto's in the past.
Such as KTM LC4 620 '98, Honda CRF '03, Suzuki DRZ '02 and '05, KTM SMC660 '04, KTM SM640 '05 and a KTM EXC530 '10
How did you get into supermoto and what do you find so great about it?
My friends from Supermofools were all riding supermoto's. And they dragged me into the darkside. What Supermoto's are great machines to go offroad with and go to the twisty roads. I love that I can crash it, and pick it up again mostly without any damage. And I keep doing this over and over again. I've been looking to supersports and riding them from time to time but they just bore me.
The fun on those bikes start at losingyourlicensespeed.
When and how did the idea for this project originated? What’s was the base for your project?
I started out with a KTM EXC530 enduro 2010 model. The only reason I bought this specific one was that it had the Akrapovic already and the engine modifications the 530 needs.
What do you use your bike for? Do you ride it on the street or just take it to the track once in a while?
I use it for track riding, street riding and use it for Enduro from time to time. The bike suspension is set up for track use. But backing it in on the streets is fun as well!
Is this your first supermoto project or did you also build other supermoto bikes?Do you have any plans for another supermoto project in the future?
I'm currently building up an EXC500 because this EXC530 got stolen in november. The EXC500 will be better!
Have you got any tips or advice for people that want to start a project like this?
