Motocross Digital January issue is out!

The new January issue of my favorite free magazine Motocross Digital is available for download. This issue included lots of interesting articles like a preview of the 2009 Supercross season, a test of several light enduro bikes and much more. There also is a pretty big Supermoto section in this issue with an 8 page report about the Bomboogie Extreme Supermoto race in Bologna, which also includes small interviews with Stefan Everts and Darryl Atkins. Also there is a 6 page interview with World Champion S1 Bernd Hiemer. Go download your issue at Motocross Digital

British Supermoto heroes will race Indoor Supermoto in Zwolle

S1 rider Matthew Winstantley will be racing in Zwolle

About a month ago I reported about the Indoor Motocross & Supermoto race in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Now the entry lists are in we can see that all the places have been filled and we will have a full grid at Zwolle at the end of this month. The race is also open to international riders and the response from abroad has been great. There are some big names on the entry list, lots of British riders like: World Champion S3 Oliver Pope, World Champion S1 rider Matthew Winstantley, Southern Supermoto Champion George Clements and several other riders from countries like Switzerland, Danmark and Latvia. They will have to battle with some of the fastest riders from the Netherlands like Dutch Champion Marcel van Drunen and his rivals Peter van der Berk, Gregory De Nooijer and Ruurd Van Roozendaal. If you want more info about this event go here, if you are not able to visit the race don't worry because Supermoto Central will be there to report about this great indoor supermoto race.

Site update

Since the Supermoto news is kinda slow in these very cold days, I thought I would make some updates to the website. I added a new Racing section to the site which includes all the schedules of the 2009 Supermoto Championships and all the respective racing organizations. There are enough races in 2009 but I have to point out some things. Most of the calendars are filled well, but I was surprised to see that the French Supermoto Championship only has 6 races, that's aint much for the birth country of Supermoto. But there are other countries like the Netherlands where it's the other way around. There will be 16 Dutch Championship races this year in this small country where Supermoto is getting more and more popular. The schedule for the AMA Supermoto hasn't been announced yet, the series has hit a rough patch and I really hope they will work out the issues for 2009. If you are reading this and your country's racing organisation (amateur or professional doesn't matter) is not in the Racing section please don't hesitate to contact me so your racing series can be added to the list.

I also updated the Photo gallery with 80 new pics of the hottest Supermoto bikes!

Yamaha and Aprilia Factory teams pulling out of AMA Supermoto

Mark Burkhart on the Graves Yamaha YZF

After HMC KTM deciding to pull out of AMA Supermoto more official factory teams are doing the same. The Factory Graves Yamaha Supermoto team decided it will not be competing in AMA Supermoto anymore, because of the current economic enviroment, the changing of the championship ownership into the hands of DMG and the uncertainty about the 2009 AMA Supermoto season. The Ripit Aprilia team won't be competing in the 2009 AMA Supermoto Championship either. RoadracerX had an interview about the downfall of AMA Supermoto with Graves Yamaha team owner Chuck Graves:
