Under blue skies and temperatures in the high thirties the GP of Comunitat Valenciana will go down as a memorable one as Thomas Charyere regained the World Championship lead in S1GP, Marc-Reiner Schmidt was crowned S2 European Champion, and David Gimenez giving his fans a performance to be proud of in S2.

S1GP

It was an explosive start to S1GP Race 1 as Husqvarna Lukas HOELLBACHER raced to the holeshot ahead of TM Racing Thomas CHAREYRE, but on the opening lap Hoellbacher fell in the off-road section almost taking out Chareyre in the process. While the Frenchman remained on two wheels, Hoellbacher fell back to tenth and was forced to put in a hard charge in what were very hot conditions.
As Chareyre opened up a commanding lead, Husqvarna 833 Pavel KEJMAR took control of second position, doing just enough to stay ahead of Honda L30 Racing Ivan LAZZARINI who came home in third.
The battle of the race though was between Hoellbacher and Honda Assomotor Christian RAVAGLIA and with six laps to go, Hoellbacher had moved ahead of the Italian into fourth only to make another mistake in the off-road section thus allowing Ravaglia to move back into fourth. Hoellbacher settled for fifth, Honda L30 Racing Max VERDEROSA was sixth.

This time Lukas Hoellbacher managed to hold on to his holeshot advantage but once again it was Chareyre who was right there with him in second, but on lap two Chareyre and Pavel Kejmar came together in the off-road section and fell. Chareyre remounted in sixth, Kejmar in eighth.
Chareyre was able to work his way efficiently through the field and by lap five had moved into third behind Ivan Lazzarini where the two giants of S1GP duelled relentlessly until two laps to go when Chareyre finally found a way past to claim second behind Kejmar. Lazzarini was third, Ravaglia fourth with KTM MTR Devon VERMEULEN fifth, the Dutch rider placing as high as third at one point in the race. Honda Freccia Teo MONTICELLI was sixth.

S2

TM Degasoline Marc-Reiner SCHMIDT entered race one knowing he had an opportunity to be crowned S2 European Champion and as soon as the lights went out the #41 wasted no time in puling the holeshot and cruising to an unchallenged victory to claim his first European title. But while he was disappearing into the distance, all Spanish eyes were on the home favourite Suzuki Team Grau David GIMENEZ who after starting fourth took just five laps to move ahead of Honda Assomotor Fabrizio BARTOLINI and Honda Freccia Diego MONTICELLI to move into second, although he was helped slightly when Monticelli fell. Nonetheless, Gimenez put in a great ride taking full advantage of his home advantage to record his best finish of the season in second. Bartolini came home third ahead of Suzuki SHR Petr VORLICEK, Monticelli and TM Racing Mattia MARTELLA.
