After a one month break the FIM Supermoto World Championship will be back in action this weekend in Lignieres, one of the calendar's new additions, for the fifth GP of this season, the Grand Prix of Switzerland.
Right now the Word Championship Leader is the French Thomas Chareyre(TM Factory Racing). He left Croatia with a shining performance consisting of three races victories and he has a comfortable 31 points advantage over Mauno Hermunen (TM SHR).
The Finnish rider, very fast aboard his TM , doesn't have a lot of luck this season. In Rijeka he had to settle for a second place on the podium due to an injury to his left wrist after a crash in Saturday's qualifying.
Third position in the S1 point standings is now for the italian Ivan Lazzarini (HM Honda Racing), the most regular rider in the championship, who missed the podium only in Bulgaria.
Fourth position for the defending World Champion, Adrien Chareyre (APRILIA Fast Wheels) who has to train hard to conquer the podium this week-end. Till now he only won the GP of Sicily.
The others riders closing the Top Ten classification are the English Mattew Winstanley (TM SHR), the young Elia Sammartin (SUZUKI Racing Pergetti), Max Verderosa, (HONDA Hbv), Pavel Kejmar(KTM Bauerschmidt) and the 2011 European Champion Diego Monticelli (HONDA Freccia).
