Thomas Chareyre takes double win in Ortona

Lots of entertainment on the exciting circuit of Abruzzo International Ortona, for the fourth round of the Italian International Supermoto Championship, with a splendid victory from the Frenchman Thomas Chareyre(TM) in the International class and a win in the Italian S1 class by Davide Gozzini.

On a very hot and luckily windy day, with a lot of public in the stands, Massimiliano Porfiri (Honda) again had a strong race in the Open class . Luca D'Addato (Honda) came second and is even closer to winning the Open championship. Third place overall in the championship and for the pilot of Olbia Lorenzo Pes (TM).

In the Coppa Italia again a double win for Diego Monticelli (Honda), who goes so to increase his leadership position in the provisional championship standings. Second was Paul Salmaso (KTM) and third Gian Marco Zanon (Aprilia).

Next round of the Italian International is the fifth round in Latina on 4 and 5 September.

S1 RACE-1

Adrien Chareyre (Husqvarna-Azzalin) takes the holeshot in front of his brother Thomas, behind them Davide Gozzini, Thierry Van Den Bosch (Aprilia-PMR H2O), and the leaders of the two rankings Ivan Lazzarini (HM Honda Racing). Exiting the first corner German Bernd Hiemer (KTM Motoracing) crashed and was then hit by Paulo Gaspardone (Honda). Hiemer had to continue the race in last place and Gaspardone retired with a hurt right shoulder.

At the front Adrien Chareyre, followed by Thomas, Gozzini, VDB and Lazzarini still lead the race. After a couple of attacks on his brother Thomas Chareyre takes the lead and wins the race. Fifth place is for Teo Monticelli (Arrow-Honda Team) followed by Andrea Occhini (Rigo Racing Suzuki), Fabrizio Bartolini (Husqvarna), Sammartin Elias (Honda), Max Verderosa (Honda).

This time no hesitation andThomas Chareyre (TM) takes the holeshot, leaving behind Davide Gozzini (TM), Adrien Chareyre (Husqvarna) and Bernd Hiemer (KTM). Behind the quartet heads are positioned Thierry Van Den Bosch (Aprilia), Ivan Lazzarini (HM Honda), Fabrizio Bartolini (Husqvarna), Sammartin Elias (Honda) and Paul Gaspardone (Honda).

Thomas Chareyre expanded his lead and his brother Adrien tried to overtake Gozzini but failed. At the fourteenth round ends the second race with again a win by Thomas Chareyre followed by Gozzini and his brother Adrien, and then Van Den Bosch, Lazzarini, Bartolini, Hiemer, Sammartino, Verderosa , Monticelli.
