Superb weekend for Thomas Chareyre in Sankt Wendel

Thomas Chareyre had a blistering weekend in Sankt Wendel taking Superpole and winning the three races to show the whole world he is now the one with the red plate. Second was Ivan Lazzarini and Bernd Hiemer took the third step of the podium despite starting his home Grand Prix from seventh. Thierry Van Den Bosch instead struggled to finish eighth overall and lose the Championship lead.In the UEM European Championship Open class Petr Vorlicek went out victorious from the German track with three consistent victories and Lukas Höllbacher won the overall S3 class.

Thomas Chareyre fastest in Superpole

 
The starting order of the front row has been decided this morning during the superpole. Thomas Chareyre was the fastest in front of Hermunen, Adrien Chareyre and Lazzarini.

Lazzarini fastest in Germany

Ivan Lazzarini was the fastest rider during the qualification of the Grand Prix of Germany in Sankt Wendel. Only 0,1 seconds behind was Mauno Hermunen and behind him followed Adrien Charyere and his brother Thomas (who was leading the charts during the free practice sessions). The first 10 riders are all within 1 second of eachother so that promises some exiting racing for tomorrow! Check the full results of the S1 qualification here. Tomorrow's superpole will line up the 4 fastest against eachother to decide who will get pole position.

In the UEM European Supermoto Championship it was Teo Monticelli who grabbed the pole because he was the only UEM rider that lapped a time in the 59 seconds, he was followed by Vorlicek, Nastran and Bartolini.

After a promising start in Castelletto di Branduzzo, the 2010 FIM SuperMoto World Championship S1, continues with the German Grand Prix set for this weekend at Sankt Wendel – the venue making a return in the calendar after the 2007 German GP. It will be a busy weekend because the German and European UEM Open Championship will also race this weekend.

Luc1 team on top in Lohéac

The heat wave that ruled the weekend in Loheac did not stop the racing. The Championship continues its momentum. A mid-season, nothing is settled yet and the title race remains open in all categories. The Luc1 team had a great weekend with overall wins in the S1, S2 and S3 class.

Thomas Chareyre takes double win in Ortona

Lots of entertainment on the exciting circuit of Abruzzo International Ortona, for the fourth round of the Italian International Supermoto Championship, with a splendid victory from the Frenchman Thomas Chareyre(TM) in the International class and a win in the Italian S1 class by Davide Gozzini.

On a very hot and luckily windy day, with a lot of public in the stands, Massimiliano Porfiri (Honda) again had a strong race in the Open class . Luca D'Addato (Honda) came second and is even closer to winning the Open championship. Third place overall in the championship and for the pilot of Olbia Lorenzo Pes (TM).

In the Coppa Italia again a double win for Diego Monticelli (Honda), who goes so to increase his leadership position in the provisional championship standings. Second was Paul Salmaso (KTM) and third Gian Marco Zanon (Aprilia).

Next round of the Italian International is the fifth round in Latina on 4 and 5 September.

Marc Fraikin unbeatable in Florennes

Last weekend was the second round of the Belgian Supermotard Championship Series at Florennes.

On Saturday the riders got the opportunity to do two free practice sessions on the circuit in Florennes. On Sunday morning followed the timed practice. Marc Fraikin took the pole in front of Eddy Seel, Lionel de Ridder and Marcel van Drunen.

Marc Fraikin was unbeatable all weekend and won all of the races and the Superfinal. Lionel de Ridder also had a good weekend with a 2nd, 6th and again a 2nd place in the Superfinal. Marcel van Drunen also visited this round of the Belgian Championship and was in the top 6 all weekend with a 4th, 3rd and 6th place in the superfinal.

Latest news about Nestor Jorge's condition

There's finally some good news on the physical conditions of Nestor Jorge, the Spaniard injured during the World Supermoto GP of Austria, in August 2008.
After initial hospitalization in Austria, Nestor had been transported to Tenerife where, however, his physical condition had been gradually deteriorating. At the beginning of 2010 the pilot was then transferred to a German clinic where he eventually began a slow but steady improvement.
