Davide Gozzini (TM 450) & Ivan Lazzarini (Honda 450) showed the enthusiastic New Zealand crowd just how good a rider he really is at the “Cemetery Circuit” at Wanganui on Boxing Day with some explosive riding at the legendary street circuit.

The weather was perfect with hot conditions and a cool breeze during the afternoon, the circuit has a bit of everything with kerbs, trees, railway crossing and of course the ‘Cemetery’.

With both visiting Italian riders, Lazzarini and Gozzini invited to take part in Superpole against the top six Superbikes they finished in fifth and sixth places respectively a mere 1 second slower than the fastest Superbike.

For the Motard events Lazzarini qualified on pole with Gozzini in second place with the 450’s more suited to the Cemetery than at the previous round at Mansfield. Lazzarini got the holeshot in both races and the racing at the front was hard fought with the 20,000 + crowd enjoying all the action. Gozzini was able to slip under Lazzarini to take the wins in both points scoring races and the result was the same in the ‘Feature Race’.Gozzini’s fastest lap of the day was a sizzling 50.9 seconds exactly the same as the fastest Superbike.

With the winter stop in sight, it is time to have a look at the new Supermoto season. Marcel van Drunen, European Supermoto Champion / five time Dutch Supermoto Champion , and Michael Wagner, int. driver S2 from Germany, are organizing for the first time an exclusive international Supermoto Masterclass in southern Spain for the year 2010. This seven days trip is focused on an optimal preparation for the new Supermoto season or, in case of the recreation bikers, meant to increase one’s technical skills as well as gaining more machine confidence.

MVD Racewear is proud to announce that the 3x Croatian Supermoto champion Tihomir Kotarski has chosen to ride with MVD Racewear in 2010. Tihomir Kotarski was very surprised how comfortable and light the MVD Racewear gear is. MVD Racewear is proud to have this champion in their team and wish him good luck in 2010.
