How about a small introduction of yourself to the readers of Supermoto Central?

I am Ilia Mykhalchyk. I'm the 2012 Supermoto Champion of Ukraine. I've been into motosports since I was 4 years old. For the last 3 years I have been riding in the STK 600 Series with WSBK Team Go11.

How did you get into supermoto and what do you find so great about it?

Between the participations in the championships I'm constantly training in cross, supermoto and pit-bike. Supermoto is one of my favourite disciplines when I'm training. This year I participated in SIC Supermoto 2014 charity race.

When and how did the idea for this project originated? What’s was the base for your project?

In Ukraine me and my sponsors opened a maintenance service for Andreani Group International. They support me and during the years of our cooperation we have collected a lot of spare parts. For the base of our project we have chosen a Suzuki RMX 450 2012.

Can you tell us in short how the build went? Did you have any big problems or did it all went smooth?

We didn't have any problems, all the parts that we could choose in other companies – we did so, but the main design and plastic parts we ordered from our Ukrainian partners.

What do you use your bike for? Do you ride it on the street or just take it to the track once in a while?

This is presentation project of Andreani Group in Ukraine. But I already have driver's license for moto riding and I believe I'm able to test this bike this summer on the streets of Kiev.

Is this your first supermoto project or did you also build other supermoto bikes?

This is not our first project. We did a similar project with Harley Davidson bike before.

Do you have any plans for another supermoto project in the future?

Regarding future plans – considering the Ukrainian long and cold winters, we are very experienced in understanding how the bike shall perform on the street rides. We are working on it constantly.

Have you got any tips or advice for people that want to start a project like this?

We would like to advice for all who started their own project – go with it till the end and it will be enjoyed by the others for sure!
