How about a small introduction of yourself to the readers of Supermoto Central?
My name is Ryan Stephen founder of FreestyleSupermoto.com. I am from Racine Wi, USA.
How did you get into supermoto and what do you find so great about it?
I began doing stunt shows on sport bikes about 9 years ago where I transitioned into supermoto bikes and stunted them for many years. That lead me to racing supermoto about two years ago.
When and how did the idea for this project originated? What was your inspiration?
I love building new bikes usually a few a year not all supermotos. I was not doing well on the track with my converted stunt bike so I decided it was time to build a real race bike.
What’s was the base for your project?
The bike started out as a 2013 Husqvarna TC449 from Heinen's Husqvarna in Minneapolis MN USA.
Can you tell us in short how the build went? Did you have any big problems or did it all went smooth?
The build went really well I have built three of the 449/511 platform bikes, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was in for when I began. Doing all the work myself made the process smooth. What do you use your bike for? Do you ride it on the street or just take it to the track once in a while?
This bike is dedicated to track use only, I race in the Northwoods GP series here in Wisconsin, and a few other organizations.
Is this your first supermoto project or did you also build other supermoto bikes?
I have built to many bikes to count, I like building them as much as riding them.
Do you have any plans for another supermoto project in the future?
