Hi,I am Jeff (taffymoto) from south wales UK.

How did you get into supermoto and what do you find so great about it?

I got into supermoto many years ago after several driving disqualifications from riding superbikes.

When and how did the idea for this project originated? What was your inspiration?

I got the idea to build the Black Diamond about three years ago,i was inspired after seeing some very nice CR500AF projects on the internet.

What’s was the base for your project?

2007 Honda CRF450 chassis with a 2001 Honda CR500 engine.

Can you tell us in short how the build went? Did you have any big problems or did it all went smooth?

The build went pretty much according to plan apart from the 4 month wait for the factory polished beringer brake system

What do you use your bike for? Do you ride it on the street or just take it to the track once in a while?

I use the bike for trackdays and I will eventually register it for the road.

Is this your first supermoto project or did you also build other supermoto bikes?

I have built many specials in the past,mainly honda and husqvarna.

Do you have any plans for another supermoto project in the future?

I have another supermoto project bike on the drawing board,watch this space

Have you got any tips or advice for people that want to start a project like this?

It really helps if you have good contacts for the specialist work involved for a build of this nature, luckily I have a good friend
