Injured Bernd Hiemer takes the optimistic approach as he recovers

It takes a lot of courage to sit out the opening of the SuperMoto season when you are the reigning world champ but that is what Red Bull KTM's top rider Bernd Hiemer had to do when he broke his left arm and right wrist in a pre-season training session.

Now plaster casted and with his left arm completely immobilized, Bernd has no alternative than to concentrate on the healing process, exercise a whole lot of patience and follow his doctor's orders. "This is a pretty lousy situation for any rider and it's very disappointing after we had prepared so well in the pre-season. Now there's nothing more I can do except listen to my doctor and look forward to riding again as soon as possible," Bernd told KTM Racing News by telephone from his home in Germany.

Back on track

Firstly I would like to apologize for the lack of daily updates last 2 weeks, work has been really really busy (100 hour workweek anyone?). But I'm glad thats over now.

Expect a better updated frontpage from now on, also you might notice some changes to the site since I will be adding/removing some things on the site.

Also coming up is Supermoto Central's first tyre test of the Goldspeed Street Sport Ultra's. Big thanks to Schuurman B.V. for providing the tyres for this test.

More good news, in April Supermoto Central has reached 70.000 hits! Not bad because we started with 8000 hits in September 2008. In half a year the site has really grown.

Thank you guys for visiting the site, and be sure to spread the word to your friends!

Race report Croatian Supermoto Championship race 1

After the winter time Croatian asfalt surfers start the season in the slippery streets of city Zupanja on 19. of April, without an offroad part but with jump ramp it was interesting for the public. In the S1 class former champion Tihomir Kotarski had a hard time because of a 5 month old Motocross training accident where he broke 3 bones.

First race was interesting because young rider A.Kossi was leading the group, Kotarski was fourth but in two laps he was chasing on Kossi but Kossi fought hard and won the first race, Kotarski second, M. Martinusic third. Second race Kotarski started first lap in fourth place but after four laps he was leading the pack and won the race,  so the win goes to Kotarski, Kossi second, Martinusic third.
