Team Fast Wheels (St Elpidio Italy) has invited American SuperMoto USA rider #611 Jake Thompson to compete in rounds 3& 4 of the FIM World Championship Supermoto S1 series. Riding an Aprilia factory supported MXV 450,
Jake (2009 AMA /XTRM 450 Champion) got his initiation to racing at the highest level of Supermoto competition this past weekend in Sakt Wendel, Germany. Thompson placed 21st overall on the Team Fast Wheels prepared machine.
At just 17 years of age and on his first outing with this revolutionary V twin motorcycle, Jake scored valuable points for Team Fast Wheels and Aprilia .
With just 1 weeks notice prior to this third round of the championship, Jake seized this once in a lifetime opportunity to travel abroad, familiarize himself with a new team, a new motorcycle, a new level of competition and a totally different culture to that in which he has ever known. Thanks to the generous hospitality and excellent machine set up of Team Fast Wheels (and team manager Daniele Puca), the American racer from Roseville CA was able to achieve great results right from the start.
The next round of the FIM World Championship will be held in Triscina Italy August 29 2010. Team Fast Wheels will continue to seek the optimum set up of the MXV, while Jake continues to pursue his life long dream and passion of racing at the World Championship level.
