Cunningham takes double win at British Supermoto in Rednal

At the second round of the British Supermoto Championship Motosupplies Husqvarna rider Douglas Cunningham had a very good weekend.

Saturday was the day of the 450 Elite class, James Addy took the pole in the qualifying. Douglas Cunningham took the hole shot in race 1 and led from start to finish taking his first 1st place finish of the season, giving him pole position for race 2. Robb finished 2nd and Blakeman 3rd. In race 2 lap 5 Cunningham made the pass coming off the second off-road section to take the lead, but Robb passed Cunningham at the end of the long tarmac straight to take back the lead. Soon after the red flags were waving, the race was stopped due to an off-road crash, Robb won race 2 followed by Cunningham and Addy.

Going into the final Cunningham was determined not to let the same happen again, and shot straight into the lead, which he held to the chequered flag, giving Cunningham the overall 450 Elite win. Robb took 2nd overall followed by Addy. Robb leads the 450 Elite Championship in front of Hodgson, Cunningham moves up to 3rd (1 point off 2nd place) in the championship.

Sunday was race day for the Open Elite class. In race 1, Cunningham shot straight into the lead and unchallenged throughout the race giving him the first win of the day, which followed on into race 2, another dominant race by the flying Scott again giving him pole for the final. Although taking the hole shot again, he was hottly persued by the usual challengers Addy and O'Leary. But he held on to take the third win of the day, giving him maximum points. Brad O'Leary finished 2nd overall followed by Hodgson in 3rd. Cunningham moves up two places in the Open Elite championship to 2nd, now only 7 points behind Chris Hodgson, the current British Champion.

Hermunen wins Italian round in Battipaglia

Mauno Hermunen (SHR TM) dominated both races of the second International Italian Supermoto round in Battipaglia.

The French Chareyre brothers Thomas (TM Factory Racing) and Adrien Chareyre (Fast Wheels Aprilia) finished in second and third place respectively. Fourth position overall, and the first of the Italians, was defending Italian champion Ivan Lazzarini (HM Honda Racing) who strengthens his leading position in the Italian Championship. Good race for Teo Monticelli (Honda Team Fiamma) who finished the Salerno round in fifth place, in front of Bologna policeman Christian Ravaglia (Ktm Team Miglio).

In the S2 class Diego Monticelli (Honda Arrow) wins race 1 and race 2 was won by Massimiliano Porfiri (Honda Arrow). But the overall S2 victory was for Luca D'Addato (Valdemi Racing Honda)who is also the new Italian S2 championship leader. Vladimir Leone (Honda Transylvania) Porfiri and complete the rest of the overall S2 podium

Hermunen takes pole at Italian round in Battipaglia

The second round of the Italian Championship will be held this weekend at the circuit of Battipaglia. Today was qualification day.


At the end of a fast qualifying Mauno Hermunen (TM SHR), clocked the fastest time. The Finn recorded a 1'17 .248, behind him followed Ivan Lazzarini (HM Honda Racing). 3rd was World Championship leader Thomas Chareyre (FRA-TM Factory Racing) infront of his brother Adrien Chareyre (Aprilia-Fast Wheels FRA). And Max Verderosa (Honda HBV), who finished fifth.

In the qualifying for the Italian S2 class, Diego Monticelli (Honda arrow) was the fastest with a 1'20 .926, ahead of the Dutch European Championship leader Devon Vermeulen (KTM Motoracing) and Luca D'Addato (Honda).

Mickael Lacroix leads the Belgian Cup after two rounds

Together with several races of the Dutch Supermoto Championship the Belgian Cup is being organized by the Belgian Motorsports Union(FMB) this year.

Mickael Lacroix was the winner of the first round in Lelystad in early April. Come Geenen and Sylvain Joly finished 2nd and 3rd overall.

Last weekend in Zelhem again Mickael Lacroix was the strongest of all the Belgian riders and he grabbed the overall win. Come Geenen finished 2nd overall followed by Romain Kaivers.

Fraikin wins Dutch Supermoto round in Zelhem

Belgian KTM rider Marc Fraikin has won the second round of the Dutch Supermoto Championship in Zelhem. Fraikin won all 3 races last weekend.
 
Upcoming Belgian talent Arnaud Wauters finished 2nd overall with a 5-3-3 score. Marcel van Drunen had a strong weekend and finished 3rd overall with a 10th place in race 1 and two 2nd places in the remaining races.
 
The Euro class was won by Ralph Hulsbosch and the winner in the National class was Ronnie Kreeft.
 

Thierry Canazzi proves quality of the Goldspeed tyres

The Road Rally Championship of France is a regularity event that requires speed and endurance.

But it is important to respect the laws of the road, because the various rounds are run on public roads. This also means the tyres need to be street legal.

Multiple Road rally champion Thierry Canazzi is riding a KTM EXC400 with street legal Goldspeed pre-cut slicks. He is proving that these tyres are the best street-legal Supermoto tyres currently for sale. Canazzi is currently leading in the Championship in the "Sports" class. He has won several championships the last few years using the Goldspeed street-legal tyres.

Bidart and Berthoux win in Villars sous Ecot

 
The Moto Club of Villars-sous-Ecot hosted the first French Supermoto round of the year. The French Championship is in good health: 180 riders entered the first round of the Championship.

Sylvain Bidart (Luc'1 Honda) was the fastest in timed practice, but Adrien Chareyre(Fast Wheels Aprilia) grabbed the first place in the Superpole. Adrien entered this French round to test his new Big-Bang Aprilia.

With three successful holeshots, Sylvain Bidart has confirmed he is still the man to beat in the French Supermoto Championship. He won both race 1 and 2. The victory in race 3 went to Aurelien Grelier(Yamaha Team Blot), who is back to his old level after a year and a half of absence due to an injury. Grelier finished 2nd overall.

Warren Bougard(Yamaha) concluded the day on the third step of the podium. Adrien Chareyre (Aprilia), finished 4th in front of the experienced David Baffeleuf (HM Honda).

In the S3 class Florian Coget won race 1 and 2, but failed to finish in race 3. The overall win went to Lucas Berthoux (Yamaha) followed by Maxime Lacour (Yamaha team Blot). The new rookie the MX rider Germain Vincenot (Luc'1 Honda), made a good impression during his debut and took 3rd overall.

Class, Jasinksi and Waag win in Harsewinkel

Last Sunday was the first round of the German Supermoto Championship in Harsewinkel.

In the S1 class it was pole-sitter Class who battled for the win with Jürgen Künzel in race 1. Künzel came out as the winner while Class finished just over a second behind in 2nd place. The fight for 3rd was fierce but in the end, Pavel Kejmar was able to keep Michi Herrmann behind him.

In the second race Class was the winner ahead of Markus Volz. Third place went to Nico Joannidis and Jürgen Künzel had to settle for fourth place. Michael Herrmann saw the checkered flag in fifth position.
The overall S1 race victory went to Markus Class followed by Jürgen Künzel and Markus Volz.

In the S2 class Jasinski was unbeatable aboard his Husaberg two-stroke. Jasinski won the first race followed by Suzuki riders Dirk Spaniol and Jan Deitenbach.

The finish order of race 2 was indentical to race 1, making Jasinski the overall S2 winner in front of Spaniol, Deitenbach and Kevin Würterle.

Freiburg Supermoto Training

 

Skyzone Team made their start at the European on the 14th April.

The first round of the European Supermoto Championship was held in Ottobiano in Italy and the Skyzone team travelled there with the British Supermoto number #1 Chris Hodgson and the newly signed rider Michael Craig.

Not only was it a very wet day, but it was also his first time on his new bike, so unfortunately Michael Craig had a few crashes and didn’t get through qualification.

Chris Hodgson, like his team mate, didn’t have a great day with a few crashes but managed 15th position on the grid. Despite the lack of time on the new bike and his first time with Goldentyres Chris Hodgson did fantastic well.
